Canada’s Premiers to meet with Aboriginal leaders

Canada’s 13 Premiers will meet in Churchill, Man. Aug. 4 with national Aboriginal leaders and organizations to discuss issues related to education.
This meeting will take place before the annual summer meeting of the Council of the Federation, which is being held in Winnipeg Aug. 5-6.
The topics for the two-day meetings are sustaining Canada’s economic recovery, water issues, health care and Canada-U.S. and international relations.
Following the meetings the Premiers will report on the progress of their discussions in a closing news conference planned for the afternoon of Aug. 6.
The Council of the Federation is comprised of all 13 provincial and territorial Premiers.
