A 16-year-old Whitefish Bay First Nation youth has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of Charles Minshall.
Treaty #3 Police Service and the OPP made the arrest of the youth on July 26. The accused can not be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Minshall, 61, also of Whitefish Bay First Nation, was shot while in the community’s store on July 22.
Police responded to the store after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Minshall was pronounced dead at the scene.
Minshall lived in a residence attached to the store.
The youth charged in the case is currently held in custody and will appear in a Kenora court.
