Former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice is among four dead following a plane crash.
Prentice was aboard a small plane that disappeared after taking off from Kelowna. The craft’s wreckage was later found near Winfield, British Columbia.
The 60-year-old served as Alberta’s Premier until May 2015, and was a federal cabinet minister for six years starting in 2004. He served as MP for Calgary Centre-North from 2004 to 2010, with stints as industry minister, environment minister.
Prentice also served as the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development in Stephen Harper's cabinet.
Prentice is survived by his wife, three children, and two grandchildren.
