TRC chair to visit Sioux Lookout

Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC), Justice Murray Sinclair will be visiting Sioux Lookout May 12-13.
During his visit, Sinclair will hear stories from former students of the Indian Residential School system. He will also be holding an open forum where former students and their families and anyone else interested can hear about the work of the TRC.
"The community and region is very fortunate to host the visit from Justice Murray Sinclair," said Garnet Angeconeb, co-chair of the Sioux Lookout Coalition for Healing and Reconciliation, an organization that complements the work of the TRC at the local level.
"The visit means that survivors will have a chance now and in the near future to engage in the work of the commission," Angeconeb said.
