A Feb. 21 fire at Sandy Lake’s Thomas Fiddler Memorial School has caused extensive fire, smoke and water damage.
Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service said an initial investigation indicated the fire originated in the area of the school’s storage/supply room.
There were no reports of injuries during the fire, which is still under investigation at this time.
The office of the Fire Marshall is expected to arrive on Feb. 22 to assist with the investigation.
The school serves students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
