Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team. The City of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, your role will be to manage the procurement of capital goods and services. This position will include implementing strategic sourcing methods, vendor qualification, and ensuring vendor compliance with facility and equipment requirements. Strong negotiation skills are required as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
More specifically, you will:
▪ Develop and apply strategic sourcing methods for capital expenditures across the organization.
▪ Prepare and issue requests for proposal.
▪ Negotiate cost, warranty, payment, and freight terms while also ensuring favourable terms and conditions for all contracts and agreements.
▪ Ensure compliance with safety and business guidelines, especially regarding ethics and site compliance with contracts, initiatives, and policies.
▪ Award and execute contracts.
▪ Analyze and grow supplier relationships through performance management and evaluations.
▪ Explore new vendor and/or vendor products to optimize cost savings and lead times.
▪ Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as engineering, operations, and finance to align procurement strategies with business goals.
▪ Assist the Accounting team in resolving invoice discrepancies.
▪ Expedite critical orders to ensure they are on schedule.
Your profile:
▪A diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
▪Experience in a procurement role, and specifically capital procurement experience in an industrial environment is considered an asset.
▪Preference will be given to candidates with certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (CPP/SCMP/CPSM)
▪Knowledge and operational understanding of Pulp manufacturing is considered an asset.
▪You have a safety-oriented mindset with the desire to enforce and follow mill safety and environmental policies and procedures.
▪You possess excellent computer skills, including with MS Office. Previous experience with ERP Software, preferably SAP, and scheduling software is considered an asset.
▪The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills, be self-motivated and possess a confident and skillful negotiating manner.
