The Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit has concluded its search of the Kam River for a missing teen from Webequie.
Jordan Wabasse, 15, was last seen Feb. 7 and was reported missing by a guardian the next day.
The “exhaustive” search of the area near the James Street bridge for signs of Wabasse was completed Feb. 17, according to police.
It began Feb. 15.
A baseball cap resembling one worn by Wabasse on the night of his disappearance was recovered on a structure just offshore Feb. 15. It was sent to the Centre of Forensic Science for examination.
Thunder Bay Police and the OPP are currently determining the next steps in the search for Wabasse. An OPP helicopter is expected to conduct an aerial search this weekend.
Wabasse is described as being a six-foot-one, 200-pound youth with black hair.
