Neskantaga oxy bust

On March 21, 2012, Nishnawbe-Aski Police members of the Neskantaga Detachment, Drug Enforcement Unit and the Combined Forces Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence located Neskantaga First Nation.
Police seized six-hundred ($600.00) dollars worth of Oxycodone, four thousand one-hundred ($4,100.00) dollars in Canadian currency, debt lists, and various drug paraphernalia such as pill cutters and false-bottom containers.

Moose Factory man arrested for crack cocaine trafficking

On September 10, 2012, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service officers from the Moose Factory Detachment conducted an investigation into an occurrence under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and have subsequently charged a Moose Factory resident.
Police seized approximately thirty-eight thousand five-hundred ($38,500.00) dollars worth of Crack Cocaine. The drugs were intercepted in Moosonee, Ontario and believed the drugs to be destined for Moose Factory.

Two arrested in Attawapiskat drug bust

(Attawapiskat, ON) On September 13, 2012, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, Attawapiskat Detachment, Guns and Gangs, and Emergency Response Team executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in the community of Attawapiskat First Nation for the third time this year.
Police seized approximately $26,000 worth of Cannabis Marihuana, two firearms, as well as various drug paraphernalia.

Two charged following Cat Lake drug investigation

On October 26 and 29, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by the NAPS North West Crime Unit, the Organized Crime Enforcement Unit, and the Ontario Provincial Police Sioux Lookout Detachment investigated and charged two people with regard to drug trafficking of Morphine and Marihuana from Thunder Bay to Cat Lake First Nation.
On October 26 police seized Morphine prescription pills and Marihuana with a northern street value of $14,395 dollars.

Marihuana and oxy siezed in Eabametoong

Press Release: Between January 20 and 24, 2013, Nishnawbe-Aski Police at the Eabametoong Detachment conducted three separate investigations of drug trafficking destined for the First Nation Territory of Eabametoong resulting in the seizure of $11,128.00 worth of Marihuana and $720.00 worth of Oxycodone.
On January 20, police seized an approximate street value of $8,520 worth of Marihuana.
Forty-three year-old Rose Boyce of Eabametoong First Nation was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
