Matawa chiefs call for Bentley Cheechoo's resignation

Bentley Cheechoo left his duties as tribal council chairman of Matawa First Nations Management Nov. 1 after its chiefs called for his resignation. A press statement issued by Matawa First Nation Management regarding the former Nishnawbe Aski Nation grand chief's tenure with the organization offered no explanation as to why he was asked to leave.
