Lac Seul's 2nd United Ice Fishing Derby

Lac Seul First Nation held its 2nd United Ice Fishing Derby in the White Fish Bay community near Mahkwa Lodge on Jan. 16. 300 participants from Lac Seul, Sioux Lookout, Dryden and even as far as Sandy Lake competed to catch the largest fish and win the grand prize of new 2010 Chevy Silverado truck. Other prizes included $8,000 for second place, $5,000 for third place, other cash prizes, ice augers and a new big screen television.
