SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Regional Crisis Worker/Trainer (RCWT) shall work under the supervi sion of the Regional Mental Wellness Coordinator and shall be responsible for the delivery of training/workshops/presentations as part of a regional response team. This position also requires crisis and case management, debriefing, as well as assisting communities to develop and implement coordination of initiatives between local services.
As part of the Mental Wellness Team, you will be required to have general knowledge of the cultural and traditional knowledge of the region, be familiar with and sensitive to the issues affecting mental wellness, able to communicate with local and external professional resources, advocacy skills, awareness of local cultural and Western-based services providers, aware of natural helpers, knowledge of and recognizing the value of the land in wellness.

SPECIFICATIONS :

Post secondary education in Health or Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience;
Experience working with First Nations;
Knowledge and commitment to First Nation traditional health practices;
Exceptional facilitation skills; presentations; group workshops; and public speaking events; Proven organizational, planning, and time management skills;
Must develop, implement, evaluate training plans, and assess ongoing training needs of the Mental Wellness Team, including communities in respon se to emerging crisis trainin g curriculums/models;

• Experience in training methods, certified train the trainer;
• Possess all certification/competencies required to certify Mental Wellness Team and other service providers as necessary;
• Ability to plan community crisis response;
• Ability to organize workers in crisis situations;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, familiar with PHIPA and other applicable legislation;
• Must be certified in ASIST, Psychological and Mental Health First Aid;
• Must provide rotational on call services;
• M ust possess certification in First Aid / CPR;
• Must have a valid Driver's License;
• Abilit y to meet variable scheduling requirements;
• Ability to speak Cree would be considered an asset.
