SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Regional Crisis Intervention Traditional Counsellor (RCITC) shall work under the supervision of the Mental Wellness Coordinator and shall be a recognized "know ledge keeper" in the commu nities, Cree sp eaking, pro vide cultura l teachings, and traditional worksho p s, know ledge of the land and traditio nal practices, assist to deliver land-based activities, work with external western and cultura l ser vice
providers, provide cultural awareness workshops, work within schools with staff and students.
This position also requires case management, debriefing, as well as assisting communities to develop and implement coordination of initiatives between local services.

SPECIFICATIONS:
• Post secondary education in Health or Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and relat ed work experience;
• Experience working with First Nations;
• Excellent oral, writ ten and communication skills;
• High level team-buildin g skills and positive and professiona l attitude;
• Demon strat ed ability to provide one-to-one and group support to clients, families, and youth;
• Demonstr ated conflict management and resolution skills;
• M ust work well in a high-pressure environment;
• Excellent organization and time mana gement skills;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and familiar with PHIPA and other applicab le legislation;
• Ability to meet variab le scheduling requirem ents;
• Ability to speak Cree is an asset.
