Domtar Inc., Dryden Pulp Mill Operations annually utilizes 2.0 million m3 of conifer fibre and manages the Trout Lake and Wabigoon Sustainable Forest Licenses with combined area of approximately 1.7 million hectares. We are currently expanding our team of professionals and seeking an individual to join our Forestlands Department. A progressive community set between Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, Dryden offers excellent recreational, fishing and outdoor activities.

Reporting to the Forestlands Manager and working in conjunction with the Forestlands team, your role will be to develop, plan and lead the implementation of Domtar’s safety, production and quality standards for Domtar’s operations on the Trout Lake and Wabigoon Forest Sustainable Forest Licenses and Purchase operations.

More specifically you will be responsible for:

 Overall leadership of safety, environmental stewardship, quality, financial accountability and production systems for Domtar staff and contractors engaged in road construction/maintenance, harvesting, hauling and silviculture operations.
 Oversee the effective development and implementation of a fibre supply plan (1-5 year horizon) for both the Trout Lake and Wabigoon Sustainable Forest Licenses and Purchase operations to meet financial, quality and inventory targets for the Dryden Pulp Mill and other external customers.
 Leadership, coaching and development of Fibre Measurement, Operations and Strategic Operational Planning team members.
 Forestlands key contact for Trout Lake and Wabigoon Forest operational plans with both internal and external customers, local government ministries and community organizations.

Your profile:

 The ideal candidate will possess a Forestry degree and be eligible for membership with the Ontario Professional Foresters Association.
 You bring a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated leadership that has produced successful business results together with strong beliefs and behaviors in safety, professional ethics and environmental values.
 You will have solid business skills (entrepreneurial, negotiation, cost competitiveness, business planning, strategic thinking and results forecasting) and as a team player demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse group of forest industry, government, resource users and community members.
