The Mental Health Counsellor is directly responsible for providing enhanced mental health therapy services to the Keewaytinook Okimakanak First Nation clients. The Mental Health Therapist will report to and work under the direct supervision of the Health Director, located in the Balmertown office.

Job Overview:
• Provide mental health therapy services to KO First Nation clients
• Guidance and leadership in overall case supervision and case management
• Leadership and support of mental health network teams
• Liaison and coordination with KO First Nations Health Directors and social services staff
• Development of therapy plans, safety plans, etc.
• Facilitate and coordinate culturally appropriate traditional activities
• Facilitate regular activities/meetings (on site or via video conference) to promote and develop shared goals and values for the mental health program
• Extensive travel to Northern remote communities

• Degree or diploma in a Mental Health/Social Service field
• Minimum of four years experience in mental health therapy, ideally with an emphasis in culturally appropriate approaches to addictions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prepare and submit reports
• Able to speak Ojibway, Oji-Cree or Cree an asset
• Experience working with First Nations people an asset
