Primary Duties:
Responsible for providing help to First Nation children with a developmental delay or disability to enhance performance in their environment while at school, home, or within the community. This position reports directly to the Health Director.

* Conducts comprehensive assessments relative to the developmental and psychological
status of the child
* Provides direct therapy to the child and devises therapy plans that is best suited to the
child’s needs
* Provides capacity strengthening for the community teams and parents
* Maintains regular contact with families
* Manages caseloads of all assigned families
* Keeps records of contracts, case histories, and all pertinent data
* Participates in and accepts supervision/feedback from the KO Health Director

* Graduate from a post-secondary institution with a Master’s Degree in Social Work or
Child Psychology or another relevant discipline
* Must be sensitive to the cultural traditions of the Keewaytinook Okimakanak people
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills
* Experience working with First Nation communities
* Proven leadership abilities, including accountability, and work-habits
* Experience and skills working in a political environment
* Experience in report writing
* Experience in collecting and reporting statistics
* Knowledge of the complex multi-layered structure of health and social program targeted
to children with developmental delays or disabilities and their families
