More than 70 youth in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug took part in a hockey development camp organized by Right to Play in early February.

Toronto photographer Jamie MacDonald was on hand to capture some moments and was moved by the community’s love of the game.

“In Kitchenuhmaykoosib, the hockey rink serves as a central focus of community, with hockey playing a dominant role in the day to day lives of children and adults alike, with tournaments, outside programs and inter-reserve play,” Thompson wrote. “Watching them play, it is difficult not to see the love of the game and skill that they play it at.”
