Three charged in gun seizure

Three people were charged in Eabametoong after a warrant was executed in the community.

Nishnawbe Aski Police Service and members from the Ontario Provincial Police Weapons Enforcement Unit performed the search which resulted in the seizure of a .22 calibre revolver and a 30-30 rifle along with ammunition.

John Paul Ostamus, 32, and Richard Ostamus, 34, each face charges of possession of stolen property, two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, storing a restricted firearm with ammunition, obtaining a firearm through commission of a criminal offence and two counts of possession of firearm while prohibited.

Katie Ostamus, 40, was also charged in connection with the investigation July 25.

She faces charges of unauthorized possession of firearm and unsafe storage of a firearm.
